In 1981, Honda introduces the ATC250R, the first true high-performance ATC (all-terrain cycle), taking wins as it had at such places as the legendary Baja 1000. The Honda ATC250R Utilized the a liquid-cooled 246cc two-stroke with reed valve induction, a six-speed transmission and a vibration-canceling counter-balancer. The engine was became legendary by all accounts and remained around long after the ATC fad and well into the FourTrax TRX250R later in 1986.
