In 1981, Honda introduces the ATC250R, the first true high-performance ATC (all-terrain cycle), taking wins as it had at such places as the legendary Baja 1000. Take for example its 1984 SCORE Baja 1000 effort, where it outran every buggy and truck in the event, and all but three motorcycles (Chuck Miller and Randy Morales were the overall winners that year on their XR500R). The Honda ATC250R Utilized the a liquid-cooled 246cc two-stroke with reed valve induction, a six-speed transmission and a vibration-canceling counter-balancer. The engine was became legendary by all accounts and remained around long after the ATC fad and well into the FourTrax TRX250R later in 1986. This Category is currently empty |
