The Jeep Commanche MJ pick-up truck was produced from 1986 to 1992. It boasted several engines for the 4X4 and 4X2 trucks. While the most popular were 4.0 Liter AMC I6, it also included 2.5 Liter AMC I4, 2.8 Liter General Motors LR2 V6 and the 2.1 Liter Renault Turbodiesel I4. Essentially, it was virtually the same off-road vehicle as the Jeep Cherokee XJ, including the prized four-link, coil-spring suspension up front, which provides for a improved articulation and a better ride than the leaf-spring supsensions of the CJ and YJ Wranglers of the time. The rear end remained leaf sprung in the rear.
