Vildosola Racing added another colorful chapter in the team’s history books at the 40th anniversary running of the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. Gus and Tavo Vildosola teamed up for the third time this year in SCORE’s premier class, Trophy Truck, and put forth the best finish by a Mexican team ever in the event's storied off-road racing history.

The saga of the legendary Baja 1000 Overall Champions list begins none other than J.N. Robers and Malcolm Smith in 1967, finishing the first Baja 1000 aboard their mighty Husqvarna motorcycle in 20 hours and 48 minutes. The duo beat the Meyers Manx VW buggy of Vic Wilson and Ted Mangels by nearly seven hours (27:38). This year's 40th running of the desert off-road race, Honda clinched its 18 victory for the race, raising its record win with Steve Hengeveld, Robby Bell, Kendall Norman and Johnny Campbell behind the handlebars of the Honda CRF450X (24:15:50). Mark Post, Rob MacCachren, Carl Renezeder teamed in their Ford F-150 Trophy Truck for the overall four-wheel win (25:21:25), bringing Ford into a tie with Chevrolet for overall wins at six a piece. Chenowth VW sits in third at five overall victories.
