Team HUMMER once again demonstrated the inherent off-road capability of the HUMMER H3 as Rod, Josh and Chad Hall piloted their stock class H3 Alpha and H3 nearly 1,300 miles to become the first stock class vehicles to finish the 2007 SCORE International Baja 1000.

Vildosola Racing added another colorful chapter in the team’s history books at the 40th anniversary running of the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. Gus and Tavo Vildosola teamed up for the third time this year in SCORE’s premier class, Trophy Truck, and put forth the best finish by a Mexican team ever in the event's storied off-road racing history.

The saga of the legendary Baja 1000 Overall Champions list begins none other than J.N. Robers and Malcolm Smith in 1967, finishing the first Baja 1000 aboard their mighty Husqvarna motorcycle in 20 hours and 48 minutes. The duo beat the Meyers Manx VW buggy of Vic Wilson and Ted Mangels by nearly seven hours (27:38). This year's 40th running of the desert off-road race, Honda clinched its 18 victory for the race, raising its record win with Steve Hengeveld, Robby Bell, Kendall Norman and Johnny Campbell behind the handlebars of the Honda CRF450X (24:15:50). Mark Post, Rob MacCachren, Carl Renezeder teamed in their Ford F-150 Trophy Truck for the overall four-wheel win (25:21:25), bringing Ford into a tie with Chevrolet for overall wins at six a piece. Chenowth VW sits in third at five overall victories.

Robby Bell teamed with Steve Hengeveld, Kendall Norman and Johnny Campbell to take the overall victory at the 40th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 aboard the factory Honda CRF450X in 24 hours, 15 minutes and 50 seconds with an average speed of 53.43 miles per hour. Tim Morton (Baja Bound / www.bajaboundmoto.com), also aboard a CRF 450X, teamed with Jason Trubey, Caleb Gosselar and Jonah Street to clinch second motorcycle and third overall (25:34:45 / 50.68 MPH). Mark Post teamed with Rob MacCachren and Carl Renezeder to take the overall four-wheel victory in the Riviera Racing Ford F-150 Trophy Truck (25:21:25 / 53.43 MPH).

Starting his 70th birthday party a bit early, venerable veteran desert racer Rod Hall lit the candles on his celebration by earning a record 19th class win during the final hours of the legendary 40th Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 desert race Thursday. As the final checkered flag drop early Thursday evening for the last of a race-record 239 official finishers in the 40th annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, it was obvious that another incredible and colorful chapter had been added to the legacy of this popular desert race down the majestic Baja California, Mexico, peninsula.

Glen Greer, driver of the Greer Bros. Racing / Toyo Tires Dodge truck, won Class 8 of the 40th Anniversary Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 on off-the-shelf 37X13.50R17 Toyo Open Country M/T tires. Starting last in his class, Greer passed all of his competitors during an extended mileage race spanning a suspension pounding 1,296 miles across the harsh terrain of the Baja California peninsula.

Mark Post teamed with off-road racing legend Rob MacCachren and Carl Renezedar to pilot the Riviera Racing Ford F-150 Trophy Truck to overall four-wheel victory for the1296.4-mile 2007 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 along the rigorous Baja Peninsula from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas. Truck and dirt bike racing legend Larry Roeseler once again joined Terrible Herbst Motorsports and Troy Herbst to take home second overall amid four-wheel vehicles and first in Class 1 Unlimited Buggy.

The American Honda A-Team took home the overall victory for the 2007 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 with rider of record Robby Bell and teammates Steve Hengeveld, Johnny Campbell and Kendall Norman sharing the riding duties behind the handlebars of the Honda CRF450X.
